Alpine Canada Alpin (ACA) is the governing body for ski racing in Canada. Founded in 1920 and accounting for close to 200,000 supporting members, ACA represents coaches, officials, supporters and athletes from the grassroots level to the elite levels, including the racers of the Canadian Alpine Ski Team and the Canadian Disabled Alpine Ski Team. Working in partnership with government, corporate Canada, and the alpine ski organizations at the provincial and club levels, Alpine Canada Alpin seeks to develop for Canada the best alpine racing athletes in the world. Pursuing excellence, ACA seeks to put Canadian athletes on the top step of the podium through the commitment of financial, technical and human resources. ACA is also dedicated to promoting participation within Canada's four million recreational skiers.

The objective of BC Alpine's programs is to develop ski racers, to have fun through competition, to be of the highest quality and to be adaptable as the young skiers progress through the system. In BC, ski racers who exhibit athletic ability and/or desire will have the opportunity to pursue alpine ski racing through the BC Alpine and National racing programs. The International Ski Federation FIS
The International Ski Federation - Fédération Internationale de Ski, Internationaler Ski Verband - is abbreviated in all languages as FIS. The FIS cooperates with the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and other international sport organizations to promote the sport of skiing and to supervise and direct the development of all skiing activities; to establish and maintain friendly relations with and between the Member Associations; to promote the cooperation and mutual understanding between athletes from all countries; to organize World Ski Championships, World and Continental Cups, as well as other competitions which are approved by the Congress or the Council; to establish Rules for all ski competitions approved by the FIS; fight against doping in the sport of skiing and implement Anti-Doping Rules in accordance with the World Anti-Doping Code to do so; to generally promote the sport of skiing as recreational and leisure sport in the interest of all skiers and especially as a healthy activity for children and youth

The Club is dedicated to the development of young ski racers in all Alpine disciplines, with more than 170 young racers actively participating in WMSC programs. The Club is a not-for-profit organization run by parents and associates. Members have extensive experience organizing National and International events; a significant number of WMSC athletes on the Provincial and National Teams attests to the premier level of the Club's ski racing programs. The Club also created and organizes the annual Sierra Wireless Whistler Cup, which has evolved into a world-class juvenile event. Last year this event attracted over 300 racers from 20 countries, promising some of the best competition in the world for young alpine ski racers. WMSC coaching staff are world class with national team level coaching experience. This talented and enthusiastic group has coached WMSC's dedicated young ski racers to many positive results in competitions over the last few years.
